I love Golds Gym! I was going to cancel my membership but I thought about it some more and stuck with it. I really need to start up a routine again.......i have been slacking biggggg time! Thanks Carl!

We have a standard rate of $43.99 per month with a $1 to join

our rates are locked in for life while other gyms increase your rates year after year..won't mention names.
our corporate/student rate is given if asked for which is $39.99 with a $1 to join.
very simple..no gimmicks..no haggling.. elminates bad customer service and keeps the focus on the gym's amenities and services which for 3 years in a row we are #1 as awarded by the Daily Press "Best of Peninsula".

I <3 Golds even though I need to start going more often again. Only the one in chesapeake, the one in VB is kind of slacking inside.

I won a free month of Gold's Membership from our Poker Run back in 2006. It was part of a raffle prize at Custom Car Care. Loved the gym, yet the staff wasn't spectacular... nothing bad, but there was zero interaction.
I dunno about other gyms, but YMCA will raise your rates. I worked there (GB/Hickory) for 5 years, and it use to be $43/mo. Individual (2002), and as of 2 years ago (2006) it was $51. It went up again since I've been gone; basically, $2/yr. It varies per location.
