xs650 chop
Ya man thats lookn good. I really like the rigid style rear. Im about to pick up a 71 triumph tiger this weekend straight basket case. with a title so im tryn Keep up to you in getting it together
just got back from a 9 day vacation....so nothing really new other then my wassel tank arrived while i was gone.
i don't want a bigger sprocket, these parallel twins vibrate something fierce and if i want to have the bike survive at 70mph i need low rpms.
Exhaust is is going to come out of the head real straight and far and then sharp bend and go under bike like this...

okay, third fuel tank is loose on. the bigger king sporty is out for sure. now i have to decide between the black small 70's style sporty, or the english wassel...

i really really really like them both. they make the bike look completely different.

flat black is THE color fool.
and, if you want my opinion, go with the wassel. looks the best of the 3 on that bike IMO. if you don't end up using it though, you can always sell it to me
. i want one for my current project. though i want a repop aluminum one if i can find one.
bikes comin along nicely. i dig it fo sho. can i get a close up of that foot clutch setup? looks pretty trick from what i can see in the pics.
oh, and about that gearing, i'm running 18/32 (1 up in the front, 2 down in the back) and it's still buzzy as hell at anything over 60mph. i may go down even further to a 30t rear after i finish building my new motor. a stock motor with that gearing would suck balls around town.
one more thing, if you can find a cheap set, ditch those tin-top carbs (they're junk) and use a set of older style XS carbs, MUCH better. or just drop the dough and get a set of 34mm mikuni roundslides, even on a stock bike they make a world of difference. my friends XS chop, with an internally stock motor, will pull the front wheel off the ground if you snatch 2nd after he put on a set of 34mm roundslides

first attempt at making the bike move on its own power, and my first time riding foot clutch.
