Nurburgring - Nissan GTR - 7'29, Chevy ZR1 - 7'26.4
Bah. Thats apples to oranges. Its the biggest baddest Corvette ever, of course its going to be marked up to the moon. People will pay to be "exclusive" and to have the best corvette ever, especially old rich american white guys who's first "hey i'm making it in the world" was a Corvette. The GTR cant command that kind of history with customers in America yet, or it would be marked up as such. Kinda like how the Ford GT was twice its base price when it first came out, after a few months it'll die down when they release more and more and it'll be down about MSRP.
I'm not saying that it's not any of those things, and I agree that it's a great car. All I meant was that it should be faster for what it costs and it is.
Both cars are still great and you get alot for your $$$ with both.

Uhhh no, faster is relative, that is like saying for every $100 spent you should see a benefit in ET similar to the first $100 ever spent. It is not relative to price, and further it is out running cars that are 3 to 4 times as much on average. So your expectations are really far from reality.
I'm not disagreeing with anyone here.
When the heard the times for the ZR1, I was not surprised. It weighs less, has more HP, and better brakes than the GTR and I'm sure it takes a lot more skill to pilot in around the ring at those times.
I'm not really sure why it's a surprise that it beat a $75,000 car?

That’s a great time.
It’s unfortunate that most of us long time Vette owners have backed out of trying to buy one since dealers are asking up to $200,000 per copy.
I have owned Vettes since 1985 and currently own a 2006 Z06. I’m switching over to a Viper ACR which is a lot more affordable due to the ZR1 price gouging. I know GM can’t control that; however, GM is losing out on long time Vette buyers.
