CR FTW. Wish I could have a set of seats out of one for my AP1. They kinda have a carbon-kevlar kinda theme going with yellow/black inserts + yellow stitiching and best of all, they aren't leather.
leather+convertable=burnt ass. Wouldn't mind having the toneau cover though.
<<SIDENOTE
In japan it's called the type S and comes with a soft top and the toneau cover. I like that combo better.

There are a lot of things on the CR that can be done on the base S2000, for no/very little money. For example, Honda claims the shifter has gotten shorter, it did, but only by changing the shift knob. I used to have a CR knob in mine, and it felt identical to the shifting in the CR(only spent $40 on the CR knob).

The 'sound deadening' material they removed are the pieces in the trunk(near the spare tire) and on the underside of the hood. All these are, are your typical fiberglass/cloth blanket, that can be yanked right out.

As for the steering rack stiffeners, a pretty simple concept. They are 2 braces that go to each connecting bolt on the steering rack, also bought these for just over $60.

Anyways, just trying say, that the really only MAJOR things that Honda put on these cars, is the suspension and steering rack(AP1 ratio). This discussion has been beaten to death over at S2ki.com. So, I'll stop.

...so is this CR really worth the extra few grand or is it just hype for S2k fanboys?

Well, if you can score one for close to base MSRP, it's really worth it. The one thing that most people(including me) have a problem with, is the hardtop. The fact that there is no soft top is the reason why I didn't pick one up.

I just don't understand wanting the soft top though. The best S2k I've seen was one with a carbon fiber hardtop. Well to each his own. Also I would have hoped a CR edition would have at least a little engine improvment but, eh.

I'm a sucker for the ease of a soft top. God forbid, you leave the house on a nice day for a drive in your CR(top off). 30 minutes from home, ninja storm... no good.

The carbon ones aren't that much lighter than the OEM.... Mugen's is 20lbs lighter than OEM if I recall but twice as expensive.

Yep, plus the OEM top comes with glass and a rear defrost. Definitely a plus.

Does the hardtop do much in the way of providing extra rigidity?
