not true, and no they didnt go to 6 bolt in 98 models...be nice if they did, but no....yes, those years have crankwalk issues, but than again, other car brands/models crankwalk as well....just ya dont hear of it like ya do in DSM's...

Crank walk is caused by lack of oil on the bearings when the car is first started which causes wear and tear and eventually causes the crank to move. Dumping the clutch has little to no affect on it. Dsm had the worst issues in the 95-97 gst/gsx. in 98 they realized they had a problem and started to fix it and in 99 crank walk was all but gone. All motors 92.5-99 motors were 7 bolts. 90-92 were 6 bolts.

clean dsm. many of the same mods i had on my talon, which i sold when the crank started to move and it was a 98. what was used to tune the car? is it the stock ecu?
