First off, wikipedia is not a good place to look for actual definitions.
Secondly, your first video (of Ken Block) is definitely not a gymkhana.
However, this event will look similar to the second video in terms of layout, course size, and speeds. Just without those curbs.

Sport competition using automobiles to make the fastest lap possible around a predesignated course. Lower budgets will see cones and small lots to compete. Larger budgets can afford more exotic scenery.
Not allowing the cars to slide and make a wonderful mess of the lot wouldn't exactly constitute the fastest lap possible.
No need for debate, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun.
