The owner want to do a Vortec swap eventually. Once the Sy (posted for you Cman) is finished I am sure he will start gathering a bit more info for the Sami (once again posted for the titty baby)

noooo convince him not to do the 4.3 swap.

With a small gas tank, and that motor he's going to be filling up all the time. The weight distribution is going to be off (if/when he wheels it) and it's going to be relatively expensive.

He needs to find a 16valve from a sidekick or whatever (like in zack's samurais) and stick to that. It'll have plenty of power and will still get great mileage. They're pretty easy to find, just needs a re-wired harness and they basically bolt in.

Another option is the 8valve 1.6 liters from certain year trackers. Not as much power, and not as easy to maintain in my opinion, but still a step up from the 1.3L
