friends car. red top sr20det, gt2871rs, s4 cams, enthalpy tune, cant remember what size injectors. 20 psi should make 400 hp. setup like this is old news, theres no "build" thread, we threw this together in a weekend. my cars getting the same cams, im just going with the t3/t4. rb 25 is a waste for the money, get a 26 if you HAVE too, but then you wont be able to afford the parts. and STILL will have a hard time making 500 hp, and keep the car driveable.

 

wait,I'm not trying to build an rb, I just want to put the rb in and run about 12 psi. I don't want to have to get into internals.

I don't expect you to believe that i will do the swap, like I said in the beginning how many people get on here and say that crap. But I would still like to talk to someone who has done and owned the swap.

i wouldnt call it a build, its a bolt on turbo and cams, injectors and a tune. hes a member on this forum, hell speak up if he feels inclined. the point im trying to make, is for you to MAKE any power out of a rb25, your going to spend 3 times or more what it would take to do an sr. i dont know what the general accepted "reliable" hp is you can make out of an rb25, but i know its not much more than 400-500. which makes the swap completley overrated to me. im just tired of hearing dreamers talk about something theyll never have. really though, 12 psi on a rb? just tell me what the point is? it wont make anymore than a bullshit t28 setup on a sr20 can. if its so you can SAY you have an rb, then i rest my case, its a fan boy motor. theres no real reason to go rb. waste of money. and before people on here give me that "you can buid it" bull shit, you can build anything, including the sr. i dunno, im just ranting. i really dont understand the whole rb25 thing though.

 

how much hp do you think 12psi would make on an rb25? stock its what 250? and an sr is 205, like I said I'm really not trying to do to much more to the motor but a few bolt ons (right now). But I would like to have a nice base for future mods , I love the sr don't get me wrong, mabie I'm just bored and want to do something diff. , something I haven't done before.

 

if your really gonna swap your s13 my best advice is definatly go with an SR, an RB would be nice yes, but in the end its not worth. You'll be spending a ridiculous amount of money just to get it going, then if anything brakes, good luck finding parts quickly and for cheap. Where as with an SR it wouldnt be quite that expensive and parts really are not that hard to find at all if you know where to look and you do a little research. That and for the price of the full RB swap you could have a 400 500hp SR motor....
