Good turbo diesel forums?
You won't be happy with it until you change some stuff around like the fuel plate, GSK and so on. You will only need a good clutch from South Bend Clutch or whoever else you choose. I picked mine up right down the street, got lucky and saw it after driving around for fun
Thedieselstop.com is the best powerstroke site out there. You got banned because they expect a certain level of maturity there. Lightning Larry is actually a pretty nice guy too, most people just hate him cuz hes the one you have to deal with when you break the rules.
As far as reliability is concerned, the 7.3 Powerstroke and the 12v Cummins were the best engines ever made. I have spoken to some guys at truck-stops with either of the two engines with well over 300k and still running strong, and I was even lucky enough to meet a 12v guy with 670k on the original engine. I don't recommend the Ford 6.0s, basically it was a failure. My family has a 7.3L and I put a custom tune, opened the air flow and exhaust (only thing you have to change on them are the mufflers which are a mighty restriction) and squeezed out a whopping 29 highway 26 city. For a 9500 lb gross weight truck, thats incredible.

oh yes, once you start with oil burners you won't go back. I drive a Ford 6.4 with 564RWHP, and am building up a 96 Dodge 12v for drag racing. If you got any question ill answer them for you.
Dodge has the best Engines, Ford has the best bodys, and Duramax has the best transmission. period.
If your just starting and want to do everything with a turn of some wrenchs and all mechanical go find a 12v Cummins. If you want electronic more up to day tuning, get yourself a Common Rail or a 6.4 Ford if you can afford it. Im not a Chevy fan but never worked on one. I purchased my 12v reg cab long bed 4x4 for 6k with 180k miles. There are 12v out there with well over 200k some even 300k.

6.0 is going to be out of my price range. I'm looking for a nice 12v MAYBE 24 v, or 7.3... I'd REALLY like a manual though, I would much rather just replace the clutch with a beefier clutch than tear into an automatic and replace a lot more. I just can't seem to find one that I really like, and I have been looking everywhere. I'm trying to find it already modded and/or lifted.
If you get a 7.3, both the E40D and 4R100 are weak auto transmissions. I too would go with the manual if you can find one.
I have a 7.3 with the E40D and once it crosses over 100k miles, most say you are living on borrowed time.

im on oilburners.net. im interested in diesels too but i wanted to get a shitty one to fuck up before i got something nice, so that's what i did. its a good site with lots of platforms... so it sucks if you have a singular focus but is great if you just want to survey.
