nothing wrong with a 600 for a first bike. I wouldn't waste my time with a 250 or 500 ninja. You'll have it fir a week or two and already want to upgrade. As long as your mature as drive reasonably you wont have a problem.

For 4k you'll be able to find a nice used bike. Learn it and enjoy it.

Dirt bike like you have is much more difficult to ride then a 600 with no lowend torque.

Honda bikes suck unless it's an 1100XX Blackbird. Go with Suzuki.
