10-12 hp per point of compression is a genral rule of thumb, but in no way is it 100% accurate everytime. Too many factors come into play.

Wow...

You can count on about a 3% gain per point of compression, generally. Couple ways to do it:

1) Domed pistons
2) Mill your heads
3) Offset grind the crank
4) Run a thinner head gasket

How can you say that youget such little gains in HP from boosting compression when you turbo or supercharge that is all that you are doing..... and at 14:1 compression it is about the same as running somewhere in the neighboorhood of 12-15 PSI. I don't mean to sound like a dick but you ask what kind of engine that is going to be built just take a look at my name...... and I am going to be running a fuel that is equilvalent to 130 octane so high compression is the way to go, any more suggestions are well appreciated

FI and High compressior are not doing the same thing. With FI, your actually adding more air. A higher c/r ratio just increase the BMEP.

I was thinking the same thing.

And how do you figure that running a 14:1 static CR is equivelent to 12-15 psi? Then again, there are too many variables to make that assumption. Sounds to me that you need to get some information strait before you build this "monster" CR motor.

youre going to run 130 octane? uhh c16 is 117 octane and sunoco red is 118 octane and you want to use 130... youre using a standalone right? and no, boosting 15psi does not mean your CR raises to 14:1.

not to dickride but youre talking to pretty much the quickest FI and N/A 4cyl builders on this website. id quit acting like youre in the know and take their advice.
