No. But once you run 13.99 or faster they'll boot you w/o a helmet.

If you drive a conv you get kicked off the track for going 13.49 or faster also if you go 11.99 or faster they tell you dont come back until you have a cage installed.


But down in N.C. they let you run without a helmet or cage

 

11sec i thought at an ihra track it was 13.99 you need a roll bar (or cage or whatever), and 11.49 for a coupe? thats what i always thought but i was probably wrong.

 

yes but the track can do what they want I get tired of driving and only making one run and now they wont even tech my car in so I'm going to install a 6 point in it so they will shut the hell up and let me run.also they 1/8 miles times 8.49 that I have to deal with so I cant just let off an coast on top end .

 

8.49 needs a cage in a convertable in the eighth? what about hardtop?

 

They recommend a cage but dont enforce it until you run 11.49 in the 1/4 there are some tracks that treat a t-top cars as convertables for insurance risks
