Mr.2 so you are saying i should get a turbo, but from 91 to 93 there is really no difference? right? and have you heard of this being done and is it really a bad idea? also what was the other guy talking about with the tranny?

i believe the reason for using the Camry V6 is to start with a higher torque figure right from the start. it doesn't mean that he won't mess with it or that he shouldn't. also, as far as aftermarket parts support...who gives a damn if they (aftermarket) make anything or not. the aftermarket here in the U.S. has never really been here for us Toyota guys...it's never stopped us. we either have to fabricate or have stuff custom made.

v6 motor u can make more power out of it then 4 cylinder and make it last period.........im not sure if 3sgte has counter rotating shafts to reduce the vibration that caused in a inline 4 naturly....

if not it wont last 1/4 life of the v6 will.... sorta off the topic but when u go greater then 2.5l inline 4 vibration really comes factor thats why porsche 944 N/A has mitsubishi-patented- dual counter roating shafts...

I'll let you know in about 5 years.......I have removed my ballance shafts and I feel no difference in vibration, just a lil bit more HP (9to be exact) squeezed out.....

But the 2.5l thing is correct most I4's with a 2.5l or more will have a balance shaft......

-Jeff

Oh by the way, Why not put the Tundra V8 in that BIA if you want low end TQ?

first of all how old is your car and second it wont last as long i bet.... they designed it for a reason i bet your motor mounts will go out early compared to guys that dont remove the shafts

i'd like to see the runout on your crank and the wear on your bearings and any moving parts.
the balance shafts are to help reduce harmonics produced by a large, normally internally balancing I4s. needing balance shafts usually is an indicator to engineers that a V6 should be on the agenda. i guess then it's a question of just how much vibration is created.
also, it's a little bit of a ridiculous thought to just go V8 even if it's a badass engine. sheeesh why not just go with a Lamborghini or Ferarri V12. the answer is: space and reality! further the cost would be exponential as the only trans that would work would be either out of an F1 car or something custom built.
midengines already experience a pendulum-like effect when the car gets out of control/balance. gee, i couldn't even imagine recovery effort to try to get the car back with that much weight with which to contend!

the best 4 cylinder ever made is the RARE SAAB V-4 and the porsche/vw (not sabura beacuse they didnt design it lol) flat 4 or HO4...

Their the most superior designed 4 cylinder out their period.....what else engine the cylinder wall, heads, and crank holder are sperate..... the inline 6 is like that but thats different story
