If he's got money to waste and likes to have a new toy I'd get a new Camaro SS and put a new TVS-2300 blower on it. A few shops are doing it and w/ the blower and long-tubes on 8lbs of boost the cars are making upwards of 600 rwhp.

But seriously... the fastest car you can get for $40k is a used C6Z06. Starting in 2007 GM put 5 year 100k powertrain warranties on them.

There is no better all around car for that kind of money. I can't think of any faster car for that kind of money that will have a warranty on it.

But... if your dad's a toolbag that picks cars based on the magazine 0-60 and 1/4 mile times then I'm guessing he's not much of a car enthusiast.
