Roll Bar Question
I’ve never been on a track; but, this sounds like a lot of fun. I’d like to take my new car (’09 Miata) on a track to learn the limits of the car and myself, but mainly just for the fun of it. Will the track rules allow me to do this with just the stock roll bars? Since I will not be competing, will just taking the car out on a track be considered abuse and void the warranty?

Re: NASA 2010 Schedule
If its a convertible, at VIR, you have to have a roll bar that will pass the broom test (lay a broom across the rollbar and the windshield, you have to be able to sit under the broom with a helmet on without it touching).
But IIRC, you cant use a stock rollbar, you have to use an aftermarket bar.

And if they catch you (key word), it will probably void the warranty depending on the dealer. What alot of people do is once they get there, take off the plates and put tape over the VIN so if an insurance agent (GIECO in particular has been known to drop people at drag strips, its only time before they make their way to road courses) or a dealer or manufacturer comes around they wont be able to prove it was your car.
