More most likely confusing rollcage for rollbar... and you don't need one of those either. Your S2K allready has a structural rollhoop from the factory. Those bits behind your seats are structural and not just for looks.

Trying to do a custom rollbar on the cheap is a bad idea and you'll loose functionality in the car... oh and do you plan on wearing a helmet everywhere? I mean when you get in an accident and your skull hits that metal bar then what?
Did i say anywhere here that im on a budget?
No, Now that i have the first car payment out the way, and its running fine with no problems, i have money to spend.
So i dont have a budget on this,

Not too bright are you? If you're making payments on the car you're paying interest on it. If you can afford to mod the car that's interest money you're pissing away. I'll bet money that your "money to spend" is modding via credit card.

You realize resale on a car w/ a rollbar in it goes to shit... 99% of buyers don't want that shit and it's evidence of hard use.

But sayings like "A fool and his money are easily parted." and "Can't fix stupid" exist for a reason.

How is it that Mercedes convertibles from the 70s have strong enough a-pillars to hold up the car in a roll-over, but an S2000 doesnt?

I agree with the righty. We've all been there, so it's hard to see young guys waste away the little they do have on a car they don't even own, only bringing down the overall resale value while they're at it. Fortunately I owned every car I've ever modded outright, but he's right, nobody wants a modded car, much less a car with an obnoxious, immovable rollbar that screams "I've been beat the shit out of, don't buy me."

Trying to do what? Do stupid shit with money he doesn't have for no reason?

1. Dude buys high mileage shady-history car from random used car place. Buys it because it's cheap, not because he's looking for a fixer-upper. He's genuinely surprised when the car is fucked up.

2. Dude comes off as having a hard time getting the car running and making payments on the car. The fact that he's making payments on a $8000 car is telling.

3. Dude now wants to mod the char... first he was talking about a turbo kit, then selling, now a rollbar? If the car isn't paid for and you can barely make the first payment then don't fucking mod the thing.

If you're not racing the car you have no business putting a rollbar in the car, let alone a shitty bolt together thing that the import guys love so much.

No im not modding it via credit card, im using cash.
do i care about that? No, There are plenty of cars on here with roll bars.
Im not selling it back to a dealership anyways, Plus since im already "asking to much" why should it matter. like i said im not pushed to sell the car at all.
if someone wants it and wants to pay the price then fine by me ill sell it.

Car was bought from a well known dealership. not a shady ass side shop.
i didn a carfax and autocheck on the car before i bought it. Came up clean with no accidents or anything.

13,500 is not cheap for a 02 s2k

compared to ive seen them go for 9,000.
the cars running fine now, and has no issues, i also have no problem making my car payments.
yes, i do want to mod the car, cause i can afford to with out being in debt and still being able to live comfortably.

if i wanted a shitty bolt in one i would of never made this thread. Read it i want a nice cleanly welded one, that dosnt look like something i got from a fucking scrap yard!

i didnt ask for anyones thoughts on if i should get one or not!
i asked who does clean welding, and actually knows there shit.

if ima catch hell for everything i do. maybe i should just get a set of those cool ass aztecca (altezza) tail lights, with a body kit to help with downforce

and actually give you all something to get butt hurt about.
