The first Z06 was built and sold in 1963.

The 240Z wouldn't be sold until 1969.

Is that vette in the pic even a Z06? I figured it was the guys until he told us it wasn't, and I can't tell if it has the vents..

 

No the car in the pic is a 99 frc (fixed roof coupe) the predacessor to the Z. Chev designed the FRC and it didn't sell well, so... they designed the Z06 w/ better suspension and more horsepower etc. to be a sweet track car and it started to sell.

Actually vette people don't like it when people call the Z06 a Z, becase it refers to the Nissans in their heads too, so you aren't out of line.

 

Chevy beat you to the Z.

To Cobra4B, if i am 22 and can afford that car.... i will consider my self a lucky man, i dont even know anyone who can afford that car, but i am 17 and already doing my college stuff so... maybe i will but god damn... be proud! by the time your 30 you should be pimpin a diablo or some shit
