It's not the amount of money in mods, it's the fact that you never recover the amount of money you put in. So if you added $1k in mods, that may add a few hundred dollars to the resale value, and only if the mods are considered worthwhile and the parts are quality. But, a visibly modified tC is also likely to sell for less money because of the suspicion that it's had the piss beaten out of it on a regular basis.

ohh I totally agree the only thing you could see on the outside of my car that would give it away would be the black wheels or the subtle drop. everything else was suspension and brake mods to try and possibly get rid of the horrible suv handling it had when I bought it and also get rid of the brake fade it got when just driving in nova traffic. the exhaust it had was also extremely quiet and most people didnt notice it until WOT. I know these cars are only owned by teen girls and guys who envied the fast and furious so I tried whatever I could to get away from all that.

ohh and shawn it hasnt been trashed at all other than the accident and bad repair. the previous owner was a balding asian guy who commuted in it only and I never raced it or drove like a moronic kid like most would think. I'm a mechanic at a lexus dealership and I know how to treat cars. I may have been dumb to buy this car but I had several mechanics look at it first and nobody could see the damage at all until the accident when my quarter panel cracked

First rule... CARFAX.

Do you have the name of the previous owner. It should be on your bill of sale along with his adress. Whitepage.com if he has moved.

yeah I have a bunch of family who works for carfax so I get as many free carfax as I want and I know the ins and outs of that system. Problem with carfax is that certain shops dont use carfax and wont report accidents since they do not have to not all insurance companies report to carfax either. I can do more thorough searches in carfax than anyone else but it still will most of the time turn up nothing. Only insurance companies can search a full background of a car through insurance only databases.

No. That's not how insurance works. It's not retroactive. You're new at this, aren't you?

$6k is better than no k. I mean you might wanna run this by a lawyer to see if there is a flaw somewhere. My college and had free legal advice, if yours does, check it out.
