Sushi Place?
If you want a great sushi date for valentine's day go to Momo's in Kempsvilles shopping center near the Kmart.
Last year when I went, they had a awesome special for two. It was like $75 bucks for a lobster and steak sushi extravaganza. You got an appetizer, your lobster and steak, and of course all you can eat made to order sushi. The way you order there is you get a list and check off anything and everything you want and it goes to the chef and he makes it then.

being half japanese, there is only one place i trust, and believe it or not its owned by chinese people, that is inaka sushi, my mother works there, and also the same people own kobe, both very very classy sushi joints.

cali rolls, lol
eel is good too since its cooked.
um. If anything, I say go straight into the beast and just order whatever. Maybe the roe you won't like.. but I dont really see anything else to bother you.
I like sushi-bistro the best. The specialty rolls at Domo have always been works of art (va beach roll) and their appetizers like the tuna carpaccio are awesome.
Nigiri's fine and all but i love more complex flavors like the sea threw-up in my mouth. deelllicious

if I were you.. since you havent actually tried before.. ask the chef to start you off easy and slowly work into more advanced sushi.. that's if you sit at the bar, maybe the server can do that for you as well...
I wish we had all you can eat sushi places here like in socal. 30 dollars, 90 minutes, any roll you want on demand made to order. Sigh, we need one of those here.
