Who wants to do 24 hours of lemons with me?
+1
We have 5 people on our LeMons team - 4 would be perfect as we feel we all want more seat time.
Just keep in mind entry fee ALONE for LeMons South is $1350 - then each driver has to buy a LeMons liscens (even if you have a NASA/SCCA/PCA one it doesnt count)
You havent even touched making the car safe (cage, brakes, tires ... you need at least two sets of Azenis)
Each member of the team has to purchase UP TO DATE SFI fire suit, helmet, shoes, neckbrace
Then gas to get down there, gas for the race car (even though its a 4cyl ... your at like 6k-7k for hours at a time and it eats gas)
It REALLY adds up QUICK ... I looked at the money I put into a car that 5 of us owned, and thought .... damn, I could of put that in my car - and done an HPDE .... so thats what I did all this year.
Dont let me turn you off, its most definatly a blast ... but its not as CHEAP as everyone thinks.
We are looking into CHUMPCAR this year, they have a few events closer to us, same style of racing (no exp. nessecary) as well as LeMons South and LeMons at Summit Point all next year.
Let me know if you need a hand with anything, building our car was an absolute blast. We got 4th out of 70ish cars in Feb and 10th out of 105 the year before that.
When we FIRST started working on the car;

Just a quick bump - this is an older pic - Roll cage is done, seat mounted, everything ripped out, etc. Really stoked. Yeah broke neck, I was figuring it would cost but it added up quick! Our entrance fee was $500 which I paid, I made everyone else pay their license/driver fee. Already have all the other stuff. Just finished a spending spree today on a bunch of stuff, removable steering wheel, tires, rims, brakes, nice set of springs (still under $500
). . . car is pretty much ready to go
If the car survives this race, we will DEF be doing more. I'll keep this thread updated (i have a ton of pics to rip off the camera) and extend invites to anyone who may want to thrash on the car.

Ive done two LeMons races. One at CMP and one at Infineon Raceway in California. Im actually going to Cali next month for another one at Infineon. I might be interested in racing with you, but theres a good chance Ill have my own team. Its a lot of fun man, youll have a blast, and that looks like a good car for it.
Cool, yeah, were signed up for the shine country classic in may, prob doing the july race and the sept race. For this, we'll have plenty of spots available as I'm sure the team won't do all of them. Still waiting to hear back if we're accepted. We always have room for people to wrench on the car if anyone is interested.
Depending on which races your DEF doing and my race schedule with NASA id be willing to jump on a spot.
Yall should look into Chump car and team up with us. Entrance fee is due in April, race is in July @ VIR !! And its an actual full 24 hour race.
Me
Icantdo55
Flite
AJ
and one more TBD
If you have a spot open at Summit Point, I may be very interested. But id literally jump from track to track all weekend, but that sounds rather fun.
Also ... Driftwater is SUPER CHEAP, and definatly helps out with learning what will do what before throwing it out there in a race situation. We did it with ours.
What brakes did you go with?
