There's no rule saying that you have to have an automatic if it's a show car. My only point was that if you are going to do an engine swap, you may as well swap the tranny too. You'll be much happier with it, and they are easier to work on, repair, replace, and upgrade. You say you want a little bit more power. Well IMO, the LS swap is going to be a waste of money if you don't swap the tranny (not to mention, I believe there is some custom fabrication that you need to do to fit that automatic transmission in your car). Just buy an intake and a fart can and be done w/ it.

Skywalker i am gonna swap the LS auto tranny too I already have an intake. AEM Cold Air Intake. I was gonna swap the automatic 98 LS motor and tranny. I just need to know where to get it at for a good price and not get banged in the head. anybody know of one???????????

Exactly what I was saying.... VTEC is VTEC, no matter what the car. Although, the H22's VTEC does seem to hit harder than other engines.... I dunno, I'm lost.....

hey that is what the muthafucka told me. he took the H22 Vtec because it hits harder. i think Vtec ain't shit! its just hype. this was about I'm gonna swap the automatic 98 non-Vtec LS motor and tranny. I just need to know where to get it at for a good price and not get banged in the head. anybody know of one??????????? that is what this thread is about!!!!

That's what I was talking about. I think you have to do some custom fabrication to put the LS tranny in a Civic. If my memory serves me right.

Not sure. Most of the companies that sell motors only advertise the VTEC motors. You'd have to call them to find out prices on LS motors. I would also check the For Sale forums on Honda boards and sites that sell used parts. Should run you @ $1000.

all vtec is when ingaged is a mild street/race cam nothing special thats why the big v8's u hear the over lap of the cam same thing in the hondas jsut it runnisn like 2nd cam shaft to pervent hat noise from happening but why not get roller rocks when u can ahve both of best worlds... BMW M V8 POWER ALL THE WAY Roller rockers plus 4 cams....
