I wouldn't let Abacus touch another block of mine ever again. Good work, but for the price I'd rather drive north to CNC Engine Dynamics for better machines & equiptment.

For a cylinder head though, they are A-O-K.

Bumping this thread...anybody dealt with them recently? I shot them an email today, trying to get an idea how much they charge to deck an RB head, swap out valve seals (got the part) and clean it.

I am using them currently. They're good, just like they've always been. You don't get the kind of clientele they have by being bad.

I have always heard good things about Aerodyne in Portsmouth. A friend of mine is a mechanic in the Coast Guard and he always uses them and always had great results. His team also used Abacus for some of their projects in the past and had bad results. I'm planning on Aerodyne for my engine build.

Never had a problem with abacus. Their prices are more then reasonable. Chuck is a great guy and is very friendly along with keeping great communication. Seth's work speaks for itself. Many people have had their motor assembled by them and none are complaining.

What motor did you have them machine?
as far as I'm concerned... Your motor didn't burn oil and made power...

Lol. Aerodyne assembled a motor for me, I paid for the bottom end to be balanced.,. When the motor started smoking; due to an improper break in, the crank and rods were untouched.
I never again went to or recommended anyone to go to them.

Well if anybody's on the peninsula and doesnt wanna deal with the tunnel, I found a decent machine shop out in York called Apples Machine Shop, off George Washington Hwy.
