scion XB ?
i love the xB! i'm telling you take the back seat and mount it sideways. suicide the back door. do some crazy ass lighting mods with a disco ball and some turn tables in the hatch. Slam it to the ground with some deep ass 19s tucked like a mofo with JDM camber. cruise the strip and pack it with hoes.

well i owned one for 2 days, and im the reason RK toyota might lose their scion franchise.
heres a few things to consider.
1. its a roomy, fuel efficient car, lots of safety features, pretty good stock stereo, power everything, and yet still very very cheap in price. you pay for what you get. i had a door handle fall off on me, as well as many other parts. word on the street is that many of the dealerships have already had to replace alternators and gloucester scion already had to change out a transmission.
2. yes they have a huge aftermarket. the car has been out since 1998 overseas. theres a guy in yorktown with a 99. pretty sweeet.
3. the whole cube thing is taking off. first the element, then scion. nissan has a model actually called the "cube" coming out this year. they are a huge ass trend now.
but thye do look cool as hell. as a daily driver they are decent cars for the fuel efficiency. but they are toyota echos wagon style. you just have to stand on the gas pedal to go anywhere.
i saw one already in the area covered in stickers and a GT-R sticker on the back. what is the world coming too.
and everytwhere you go people will rev on you and try to race you. people just dont realize its a 1.5L lunch box on wheels.
but they are roomy
so theres a few things to think about.
im not sure if i like the idea of factory installed subs, and intakes, and suspension stuff, and neon lights, and graphics. its a good idea but its going to put hooked up cars into the wrong hands.

Well thats not just Scion. My moms 1997 Toyota Avalon has the Alternator go bad in it but it was still under warranty. As far as door handles falling off, that hasnt happened, but the two rear doors dont open from the outside. Stuff in the interiors of Toyotas(in my experience) are garbage as far as parts breaking(door handles, Window cranks, vents, switches and lights) but the car has 130k+ miles and the engine still pulls to 125 like it was brand new. I dont like automatic trannys and the maintainance on them is super high but once again my moms tranny has never had a problem and it has 130k+ miles on it. Toyota makes good cars. I dont see a door handle falling off as reason to say that a car is garbage. There is always going to be Manufaturing defects, these cars are all built on an assembly line. The Ford Plant a few years ago were pushing 45 trucks an hour. That was a a few years ago Im sure it is up to 50+ by now. They test the chassis to make sure that it doesnt fall apart and thats it. Im sure other car manufatures do the same thing. Besides if you had the car two days and the door handle fell off then why didnt you bring it back to the dealer, they should have fixed it for free. If they didnt then the dealer is shit. What other parts broke on it in 2 days? I really would like to know so that I know what to look for when I go see one.
i agree with you, toyota makes good cars, but they also make shitty ones too, just like any car maker.
the passenger seat wouldnt lock into position. it kept falling back when someone sat in it. one of the ones i test drove had a real bad knock to it.
one of the ones a friend of mine got had the speedometer go out 3 weeks after he got it.
i dont know if these are all glitches and misfortunes but they happened.
dont get me wrong i love the cars. i traded it back in and got my pt cruiser because i wanted somehting roomy, with room for my guitar amps when my band plays out, somehting stylish, and somehting with a decent aftermarket.
the reason i left the scion for th cruiser was that the cruiser had way better options and chrysler has been around more then scion and has a good reputation. and the PT is a lot faster.
and i wanted to be different , all my friends drive the same cars, stangs, camaros, civiks or integras. i wanted to mod somehting different. no one in my age group around here drives a PT. or mods one.
