The RIPP SDS has proven itself to be a much better option for this car.

I would if it was reliable on the 6G72. The 6G72 doesn't like them for some reason.

Why is that? I don't know anything about the newer Eclipse motors, but I can't imagine that it would react much differently to any other car that came NA from the factory.

A few people have had theirs working for a little bit, but usually something goes wrong. Most of them have spent thousands not including the cost of the turbo kit itself. Most of the turbo kits also suck & require heavy modification. The 4cyl takes the turbo much better though, for some odd reason

By the way, turbo kits suck anyways. I'd go custom.

Ahhh, the ECU probably isn't compensating correctly for the extra fuel and air. What were they using to remap?

RIPP has a "black box" though for their SC. They said it may also work on turbos, but they wouldn't recommend it. It seems to be pretty much plug & play. Here's what they said about it."We are currently working on a "black box" (RIPP CHIP) for the 6G72 POWERED CARS. It will be able read the "mixed" RPM signal this car puts out and correct it, into a usable signal and be able to remap the stock ECU into a monster tuning tool
You will be able to adjust timing and control fuel as accurately as a full stand alone and better than the AFR. This preprogrammed unit will be a standard issued unit in our SDS kit and will be replacing the AFR as soon as it is completed.
What this means is you will no longer need to program fuel delivery. It will already come pre-programmed, all you need to do is hook it up. This also means we will need to worry less on engine failure and more on traction. Nice!"
That was posted on 11/19, they released it on 12/10
Sounds cool. If they can get a S/C to work right, a turbo shouldn't be any problem. An AFR or similar device will usually do what you need, but it's always better to have a fully programmable option. I never researched your car before, so I don't know what is available. Luckily for me, there are a few custom ECU options for my car, and a program is in the works that allows everything to be remapped at any time.
