Best tires for the price??
That's sorta a rare size, you can get the goodyear GS-D3s I talked about for $88 bucks each but they won't be as wide - 195/50/VR15, I do think the extra price is worth it (195 GS-D3s will probably provide more grip than a cheaper 205.)
The ES100s are good tires too, at $74 each, however you are FAR better off with the GS-D3s if you're talking about a $54 difference (treadwear is the same too.)
Also, the Paradas are SWEET looking tires, but don't come in 15" sizes (they also don't go wider than 225 so I can't use them either.. I might have otherwise.) They've only got a couple sizes really, aimed at the import tuning market.

ps: just checked, the 17s are right around $140 on tirerack..
Check out the tread pattern on these things,

I don't know what size you're dealing with but I will tell you this. Kuhmo's traditionally suck ass, however the new Kuhmo MX's are very very good tires. However, their life span is very very short. Azenis are decent tires if you're running them on an all motor civic or something like that. The problem with Azenis is that they NEVER heat up. You can drive the pigsnot out of them for an hour and they'll be just as cool as when you started. If you've got any sort of HP to throw at them you'll hate them...they never tack up. They do perform better than most tires do when they're cold though, it's just that most tires warm up...which is good. Yokohama Paradas are crap, that is all. Yokohama ES100s are good for the price but Yokohama AVS sports are far far better for nearly the same price. Performance/dollar, AVS sports get my vote all the way. Nitto 450s are just average, if you push them hard a few times and give them a couple good heat cycles they will get damn hard on you. Keep in mind though, every bitof performance you car has is dependant on your tires. They're the only thing that keeps it in contact with the ground. It's worth it in my opinion to spend the dough and get some good tires.
i was in your same shoes not two weeks ago. I went to cosco tires and ordered 4 new BF goodwrench "traction T/A's" size 195/55/15. Now i know your saying wow, those sound cheesy and/or cheap, but they are anything but. They are one of the quietest tires ive ever ridden on, theyre very grippy ESPECIALLY on warm days. and they come with a 40,000 mile warrenty. i got mouting, balancing, etc (the whole shabbang) for 375. My suggestion is to do the same. Your not going to be at the track every day, so some crazy grip tire or speed rating doesnt even matter. You want a generally well performing tire with a long tread life: Bf goodwrench traction t/a's man....you wont be disapointed.
The Goodyear GS/D3's are amazing but alas they don't make them in sizes big enough for my car's needs.
I run Kumho Ecsta MXs and anyone who says "anything but Kumho's" doesn't know thier shit. I dunno about Kumho's lesser models, but the Ecsta MXs are one of the best tires made period.
They have lasted very long for me considering the use I've put them through... 2 HPDE's at VIR, 5-6 auto-x's and 2 trips to the drags, not to mention all the normal driving miles. Compared to my stock F1 Supercar tires the Kumho's perform just as well on track, but are cheaper, and to 1000x better in the wet. Also, for auto-xing they get very nice and sticky and many joke them as "cheater" street tires.
