changed fuel filter, still bogging
Your timing shouldn't give a CEL unless it's way off or affecting something else.. The ECU really doesn't care too much, it just tries to work with what you give it.. So yeah, your timing might be off, but you shouldn't get a CEL.

my 97 civic ex when i slowly get on it in 1st and 2nd gear it like shakes a little, like it speeds up for 1 sec then it hasates, then it speeds back up, basically the same decription that brandon is using mine does, mine is all stock except intake and exhaust.. i changed my fuel filter as well and problem is still there, it does it like 1 outta 8 times i start off from first gear.. i hate it cuz it makes my car shake a little and makes the person with me think i cant drive lol help us! could it be a dirty intake air temperature sensor??
Map sounds like a good idea. A slight change in Manifold pressure would cause the map to change the fuel mixture if the map is bad it would see a small change as a big and dump fuel when it is not needed. If you have a donor car or a freinds car try swaping that out and see if it fixes it.
yea missing links are famous for getting dirty and letting the ecu read boost but if it did it a code would have shown up by now, if you say it happened before you were boosted, i would definitely check timing.......
