Try some of the more offbeat places if you want quality food. Bardo's (ghent) Cora's (ghent), 1 fish 2 fish, Blue Hippo (downtown norfolk), Fusion 440 (portsmouth : the best food I've ever had aside from Mesa Grill in NYC owned by Bobby Flay), Nawab is excellent, Orapax (greek) in Norfolk, for a chain, Moe's SW grille (ghent) is good, Sumo (japanese, VB).
If you're serious, drop me a PM & I will recommend the places I've been to aside from those listed above.
that is the sort of places that im looking for

Just say no. They used to be really good, but my friends and I went there maybe a month ago. Everything was absolutely disgusting, with the exception of their hibachi. Even the water tasted funny.

By the way, I've always wanted to try Indian food but about Nawab:

First Colonial Health Violation

There's an Indian place in Ghent I've been wanting to try? Anyone been there?

Are you talking about the one on 21st Street in betweem Colley and Monicello? I've been there (forgot the name) and I remembered that it was really good, but expensive. It's been probably over a year since I've been there, I'm sure nothing has changed.

What happened at Fusion 440? When I went, it was excellent, 5 star service, the best I've had since visiting NYC in 99' (Mesa Grill, owned by Bobby Flay). Food was 5 star, the tuna steak I got was the best I've ever had.
