And as for Macco doing a shitty job ... they have a service there with a 3 year warranty ( pretty good for the price if you ask me ! ) and you can bring it back whenever it gets dull or cracks . I had an old Dodge painted there and it looked great ! I had to buff it out every 18 months ( and you can only do that a limited number of times ) but it looked killer for a long time ! That was back in the day when I was broke as hell ( not like now , I'm broke as fuck now ! ). You get what you pay for , but if your rollin around on primer or you car has more chalk than a third grade classroom and you don't have the ducks for a primo spray job , I say go for it and enjoy !

shoot a grand for paint is a steal! If i preped my own car and towed it in, it would still be easily $5k to shoot it up right. thats nothing special like semi metalic or something wack like that.

i just got my car painted, Imola Orange, it cost me right around $2,500 (with fixing a lot of body damage: dings, dints, being hit in the back end!) its a three stage paint, so i got an extremely good deal! i get to pick it up tomorrow, a family friend works at the body shop i had it done at, they do awesome work! matt even had his car (an S2000) fixed there. if you're interested in getting your car painted go to him!! its well worth the money, and Shawn's right, you get what you pay for.
Anybody even stop to think why he wants to go with Maaco ?? Not everybody has a couple o' grand just laying around ! ( or their parents couple o' grand at that ! ). When I went there , I did it on a highschool budget . It worked out fine for me . I had a decent looking ride for minimal cash ! Someone looking at Maaco isn't or at least shouldn't expect a show quality paintjob . If all you got as a few hunnies to drop into the paint ... do it ! Sounds like everyone here is all about the bling , anyway ! I'd rather drop my dimes to make it faster than look pretty ! ( evidence proves it ... my red paint is as faded as Ozzy's mind ! )
