NEVER !!! I mean NEVER pick up your car without a good buff out !! I have heard HORROR stories about the paint looking OK before buffed and they tried to save a buck and do all the work ( minus the spray ) themselves . Even a high end shop makes mistakes and you can't see them in a rough spray job ! Once you pick up your car , it is all on you ! Better make sure that baby is straight before you take it home !

And as for Macco doing a shitty job ... they have a service there with a 3 year warranty ( pretty good for the price if you ask me ! ) and you can bring it back whenever it gets dull or cracks . I had an old Dodge painted there and it looked great ! I had to buff it out every 18 months ( and you can only do that a limited number of times ) but it looked killer for a long time ! That was back in the day when I was broke as hell ( not like now , I'm broke as fuck now ! ). You get what you pay for , but if your rollin around on primer or you car has more chalk than a third grade classroom and you don't have the ducks for a primo spray job , I say go for it and enjoy !

Well im just talkin realistic here not every nook and cranny....No jambs no nothing just a base, couple coats color, and couple coats of clear along with a somewhat decent wet sand and buff job.....Thats only at a shop with minimal cost ( Diamont) paint in the winter time.....Your right if you want the best your gonna pay 2500 and upwards depending on the paint and labor needed to get it where you want it.......

i just got my car painted, Imola Orange, it cost me right around $2,500 (with fixing a lot of body damage: dings, dints, being hit in the back end!) its a three stage paint, so i got an extremely good deal! i get to pick it up tomorrow, a family friend works at the body shop i had it done at, they do awesome work! matt even had his car (an S2000) fixed there. if you're interested in getting your car painted go to him!! its well worth the money, and Shawn's right, you get what you pay for.

Anybody even stop to think why he wants to go with Maaco ?? Not everybody has a couple o' grand just laying around ! ( or their parents couple o' grand at that ! ). When I went there , I did it on a highschool budget . It worked out fine for me . I had a decent looking ride for minimal cash ! Someone looking at Maaco isn't or at least shouldn't expect a show quality paintjob . If all you got as a few hunnies to drop into the paint ... do it ! Sounds like everyone here is all about the bling , anyway ! I'd rather drop my dimes to make it faster than look pretty ! ( evidence proves it ... my red paint is as faded as Ozzy's mind ! )

so the body shop your friend works at charges for buffing? thats plain out bullshit....and ridiculous. So he's charging the customer for his fuck ups pretty much? (orange peel, trash, runs etc etc) whatever mistakes that would give reason for someone to buff something out.
