It sucks being at the top of the traction food chain 1 season...and at the complete BOTTOM the next.
If you can't afford a set of winter wheels and tires, you can't afford an STI or an EVO.
Those nice numbers in the magazines didn't happen on all season rubber. I think that awd in the ice/snow with the wrong tires would be worse than a rear or front wheel drive under the same conditions. The whole car is under torque steer.
If you have driven an lsd equipped fwd in the snow you know what I'm talking about. The car just straight up wants to just pull itself off the road under throttle.

i nearly killed myself last winter on my stock evo tires. awd is fine and dandy but if your tires don't grip ice/snow/water, then they don't grip. can't break the laws of physics
