b16 head on a grs block 1.8???? whats involved and is it better than ls/vtec?

hey rudelude...

i think what would be best for you, would be swap a d17z5 head onto your stock block, cuz with that head, it'll help open up the secondarys on the rotary chute, and you'll be at full nawz before you know it

The reason people put vtec heads on ls blocks is for the ls bottom end torque with longer strokes, and you get the vtec upper end horse power.
thats not totally correct on the b16/b18c1 head on a b16. the b16 head flows better, the b18c head gives you *slightly* higher compression...so it's a question of flow vs. compression. otherwise there isnt a whole lot different about the heads...it's not like the b16 would run bad with a gsr head, it would actually run about the same.

OH SHIT thanks Super Stevo, thats my new plan, ls/d15 vtec. Oh hell yeah with my Rotary chutes and secondary's.

Oh baby watch out for the new 1.8 d15 sohc

not if you already have a complete b16, but if you are putting a motor together and have a b16 block and need a head and find a gsr head for 450 and a b16 head for 500 you might as well get the gsr...you know what im saying? but if you already had a b16 together yeah it would be pointless.
