Tolulene has worked for me in the past. One time after a road trip to a place where I was going to be hard on my car I realized that the car was detonating from a bad tank of fuel. Well 1 gallon added to the 14 gallons of bad gas got rid of the detonation and made the car pull like a freight train. Worth every penny. There is probably a reason why they do not sell it in plastic containers so I doubt it can be too good for your car if used repeatedly.
