Specific rates have a single rate throughout the entire compression of the spring. Progressive springs get progressively stiffer as they get compressed more. Basically, a progressive spring will allow you a good ride while driving around town, but will give you some stiffness when you want to throw it into turns.

H&R go real nice on a fox-I reccomend them or the racecraft springs.

haha thanks man. I'll look into the H&R's, but I really don't want to spend a buttload of money on something that I don't really give a fuck about.
