I dont know Ben, my boy in the first post just put down some mean all motor numbers at Abucus yesterday...add to that the bottle say anywhere from a 50-175 shot and I say there are two Rs everyone needs to respect.

 

 

They cant drag race very well?! Do you know who any of those drivers are and the experience they have? That video is from Best Motoring and the drivers all have competed in multiple race series in japan, they arent desk jockeys from behind desks like those fools from R and T and C and D. And i dont know why you say they arent running the expected times, they arent using a 1/4 mile track so you cant take any of those 400m times literally. I have this video too, and its why i voted for the ITR (not because i have one..really). Of course this vote was a LOT biased considering the number of 240 lovers on this board.

I just find it funny that he has proof a stock silvia is more than undoubtedly beaten by a stock ITR and blames it on the drivers and not running "expected times". A lot of people are hyping up STOCK turbo motors way too much, namely the SR20DET. Of course these motors respond extremely well to upgrades and more boost, but stock they arent anything real special to rave about. Stock for Stock, an ITR beats a Silvia, or show me proof otherwise.

 

The proof is right in front of your eyes!!! Name a factor of a ITR that can be a SRd 240(without upgrades) or silvia.

The Silvia comes with more power. The SR20 can rev decently. The SR20 has a hell of alot more torque, the silvia is RWD, and the weights are around the same.

ITR are beatable, I know by alot of ppls standards they are not, but ya they are.

 

Hey, Why don't we have an integra type R and a Silvia showdown? I think that's a great idea. Then we can determine whose faster. P.S. -I normally don't waste much time to race integras unless they are turbo, but this could be fun and also settle the dispute. B18C Integras Vs. SR20DET 240's. This ought to be fun.

 

One of the advantages for the ITR is the shorter gearing and identicle HP. Yes, the ITR is blown away in torque which helps it on the launch (as the video REALLY shows) but the smaller turbo hurts the top end, where the ITR is nearly always at with the short gearing. The weights are nearly identicle. I basically see it as a slight advantage to the Silvia in an 1/8th mile race, with the ITR winning in a 1/4m race. This is concerning the red top silvia motor with 205Hp and 203tq.

 

agreed. I know many 240's that are willing....all i need is a ITR willing. anyone with a ITR step up...or shut up.

 

I'M SERIOUS! the japanese mag's i have have they have these 700hp skylines running 12's. the stock silvia in the video i have runs like a 14.9 or something pathetic. the itr runs a 14.5 i think.

gosh, so there are 2 tegs in the other side of the state, that the silvia guys here should be worried about. guess what, i'm not worried if there is a car in 757 that runs 10's and i only run 11's.

with $50 in upgrades, which car will win in a drag. the 240 does handle very well, as does the itr. but i still think a k's model silvia will out handle a itr. imo.
