A Soarer as may have been stated is basically the Lexus SC300/400 in the US. It had the 1JZ-GTE in it. It came out in 91. The same motor appeared in the Supra from 91-93. In 93+ the 2JZ-GTE came out and it was placed in the Supra and the Aristo (GS300). The two main difference between the 1JZ-GTE and the 2JZ-GTE are displacement and turbo setup. The 1JZ-GTE has a shorter stroke (2.5 Liter) and its turbos are setup parallel. Whereas the 2JZ-GTE has a longer stroke (3.0 Liter) and its turbos are setup sequential.
