As the economy slows to a stop...I hope most of you know you are not helping Americans that work in the auto industry.

On that same note, with a slumping economy, people don't have the cashflow to go out and purchase an American made car or truck that will get horrible mpg and be less reliable. But yea, I see your point. I would vote for Toyota. Reliable, fun, and practical automobiles, not only cars, but vans and trucks.

I voted VW beucase their cars IMO are of a higher quality to their japanese or american counterparts. They are much safer, on par styling wise and their performance is just as good. I wish you woulda put BMW up there because there are some affordable bimmers, but i could see everybody saying that the M5 is the best car ever made (its definetly one of the best), but you didn't want cars that are out us mortals reach. SO go VW.

Well Nissan get's my vote for overall. As far as domestic company I think GM get's my vote.

Oh, and don't foget that a large percentage of imports ARE made right here in the US of A. I beleive Nissan is supposed to be opening another factory in the Great Lakes area.

vote goes for honda, lets see... been in car and driver 10 best for like 20 years straight. Honda has a higher resale value then any of its competitors and they are by far the most reliable. yep, i see a winner!

If you look at the comsumer reports you might be surprised about reliability. I think Toyota has probably got that one in the bag.
