Actually the base v6 67 camaro weighed just at 3000 lbs With V8 of that size, and asseccories you are around 3400-3500 without driver, including, power windows, brakes, steering, ac and radio with fold down rear seats

A dig I would go to the camaro with the traction and the brute low end torque of that big block and 300 shot

No offense but if you're dumping the clutch then you're a moron. Again no offense.

i must interject.

dumping the clutch is where all the fun is. i dump(ed) the clutch on the 4pak at 6250rpm (rev limiter) with a 28" m/t et street and stock axles with a 75shot smacking right behind it...

slipping the clutch wastes 60' times and burns up clutch material. get a good flywheel and clutch you can trust, and invest in good driveline components. fuck babying something out of the hole.

personal rule of thumb: if i break it, GREAT! i found the weak link. rebuild it with something stronger and try again...

Yes the Mitsubish engineers added AWD to the evos so that owners could dump the clutch and show off the almighty drag race launching skills of the rally car

i'd love to be able to trailor it if i could.. mainly due to convenience and gas cost... but as of right now i have no trailor or access to one.. the car is perfectly drivable (drivability is honestly no worse at all than my beater). it's just a matter of practicality.

the 1st gen F-bodies are pretty light, weighing in around 3300 or so.. that puts it about on par with the Evo... a modded car will usually weigh LESS than stock, since parts are normally simplified and built from lighter materials, and stock parts are usually pretty heavy. i don't know where you get the dumb ideal that he gains 300 lbs from a turbo swap? might want to go back to 1st grade math there.

if a RWD on a slick can't destroy an AWD out of the hole he's doing something wrong. from a dig the camaro definitely has the upper hand by far.

Drivers break mitsubishi drivetrains, not the power. driven properly he can launch as hard as he wants. dunno where that common ignorant misconception comes from, but if it's in your genes please castrate yourself before they get spread.

You do know that launching is fairly important in rally racing, right? You could be knocking off a second or more depending on how long the straight coming off the launch is with a good launch. And that's with every stage. So over the course of a rally, you could be knocking off 20 seconds to even maybe 40 seconds over the collective rally.
