for real, though, let's just take a step back and look at the bigger picture. sure, your boosted type r is a pretty damn quick car. mid 12s, i think i've seen you post on here? that's very respectable, and i'm sure you beat your fair share of v8s. but think about it- the b18c5 is already a very strong 4-cylinder, i would even go so far as to say it is to the 4-cylinder world what an ls1 is to the v8 world. you're taking that and turbocharging it, to produce about the same power as a stock ls1. and yours runs slightly quicker than a stock ls1 camaro (that would be due to power vs. weight, but we won't even bring that up). do you see where i'm going with this? there really isn't any comparison. and the reason most people with v8s don't choose to turbocharge is 1) it's not quite as easy as fabricating one little manifold, running some tubes and getting more fuel as it is on a 4, and 2) it isn't absolutely necessary to make good power like it is for a 4. i've never seen an all-motor honda make more than 270 whp, and that was an s2000 which from the factory makes over 200.
sorry for the manuscript but i'm trying to make a point in the least abrasive way possible. let's see if it worked...

and on that note, i can't think of a single fwd car running 10's in street trim. DOT approved tires, 93 octane, radio, ac.. current registration inspection etc...
and how many V8's out there are doing this in countless different combos?
i dont think any one man can count that high. MPH in GA is pumping out 600 rwhp 4.6/modular stangs almost every week now. all the old pushrod muscle cars have been doing it for eons.
Most kids buy the import cars for a couple different reasons, one the insurance costs, which when you're younger are going to be about the same no matter what kind of car. They also buy them because they are cheap or dislike the V8 cars. They then take their car, and bolt-on turbos, nitrous, superchargers, and basic bolt-ons (exhaust, intake, computer, etc.). The thing is once they do up their car and look at the $ they have spent it comes up to more than what originally thought. Most of the time in the thousands of dollars, still to only run 12-13's, which on about any V8 car can be done for around $1000 or less depending on the car seeing as some will run those #'s stock.
The sad thing is, in the end all they still have is a $2,000 economy car, sure it might be quick but it's still what it was to begin with (Civic, CRX, Integra, 240, Neon, etc.)
I guess it's all in what you're into, but I prefer not to spend thousands of dollars just to run what most cars run stock.

I think I got into building imports ( hondas ) because it was something that I could afford when I first starting driving. I dont think I could ever see myself driving a muscle car or "domestic" what not. I like many of the respectable v8/rwd cars on here but I personally have no respect for the engineering designs of the cars ( from the factory ). I do understand that they are superior in performance, I just would rather drive something "slower" that I love to work on. And it is sad that I will put so much money into something that will run like high 13's on a good day, but its the love of the car that does it for me. my $0.02
