Im gonna go ahead and have to agree with you on this one. I was in the same boat as you, I knew what I was doing but it was my first time, so I figured HEY! Lets ask DragVA for help. The install went ok I guess, did take a bit of time. 3 weeks later I'm out of brake fluid.

Looking at some struts right now...

I'm seeing two big companies for options... Either "Tokico" or "KYB"

Looks like I have four basic options:
1) TOKICO HP STRUTS / SHOCKS - $300
2) TOKICO ILLUMINA STRUTS / SHOCKS - $420
3) KYB GR-2 STRUTS / SHOCKS - $230
4) KYB AGX ADJUSTABLE STRUTS/SHOCKS - $430

The illumina's are "5-way adjustable" but the HP are not...
I assume it's the same story when you compare the GR-2's to the AGX...

Any reason why I should pick one company over the other? Tokico vs. KYB?

Also, I have a good idea what "adjustable" means, but could someone explain it, and tell me which ones I should go with, and why I would want/need adjustable ones, rather than the cheapo's...

I have Tokicos on my car and theyre great.

And if you dont know why you would want/need adjustables, then you dont need them.

Alright, I went ahead and got the Tokico Illumina's (the adjustable ones) after doing some of my own research and talking to a friend...

I'll make an update once those come in and then once the springs come in...

Thanks,
Andrew

KYB AGX's are good shocks, but I guess you already bought the Tokicos. The adjustability is for the dampenings, you can set the ride for stiff (handle better) or soft (more comfort but doesn't handle as well).

I had AGXs on my car until I decided to go with a coilover setup and they worked just fine for the 2 years they were on the car. From what I hear the Illuminas are supposed to be pretty good as well.
