Those S2000s are dope but seriously they all need 15-20mm spacers...I don't understand why they don't buy better fitting wheels since they already pay so much for the wheels they have! I know they have to modify the rear bumper to lower it that much.
Limited availability is one reason. An 8.5" wheel with a +45 offset is aggressive for an S2000 and will require body work and/or aggressive camber. Lower offset wheels that look good on an S2000 are kind of rare unless they're VERY low offset. They also come with a 245 rear tire stock and people don't normally want to run a narrower tire than stock. Suspension design is another reason. The front fenders are very shallow so the more the suspension is compressed, the more the wheels camber. I know almost all car does this, but S2000s do it more than ordinary. To run a very aggressive camber on the front with the car lowered will have clearance issues on the inside of the fender. The bumpers (front and rear) are also very slab sided unlike, say, a 240 which curve inwards quite a bit. You simply can't run the same sizes on an S2000 you can on an older Nissan.

If I don't get rid of my HREs, I will. I'm going to be doing a bit of bodywork to fit my new wheels. When it's done, my front HREs won't be aggressive enough to fill the front fenders.
