Dope status
Limited availability is one reason. An 8.5" wheel with a +45 offset is aggressive for an S2000 and will require body work and/or aggressive camber. Lower offset wheels that look good on an S2000 are kind of rare unless they're VERY low offset. They also come with a 245 rear tire stock and people don't normally want to run a narrower tire than stock. Suspension design is another reason. The front fenders are very shallow so the more the suspension is compressed, the more the wheels camber. I know almost all car does this, but S2000s do it more than ordinary. To run a very aggressive camber on the front with the car lowered will have clearance issues on the inside of the fender. The bumpers (front and rear) are also very slab sided unlike, say, a 240 which curve inwards quite a bit. You simply can't run the same sizes on an S2000 you can on an older Nissan.
.I have rolled the fenders on two S2000s and I must say I was really like the fact that the fenders are shaped like that....it makes them MUCH easier to roll then a S14, haha. Fitting a wheel is a whole different story, I don't see how those guys slam the car with stock wheels without moving the bumper tab - so I don't know why they don't get someone to roll the fenders and take that extra step for extreme fitment.
Anyway, thanks for the info. I can see why the idea of running a more aggressive wheel can be daunting to someone with a car that is new and at a higher value then my own. It doesn't help that a large portion of the S2000 community doesn't work on their own cars, lol. Just for clarification on that I was not taking a stab at anyone just making a general observation at the timidness of a large portion of the people who own those cars.
No I know that. I'm just saying I'd like to see more then one or two S2000s out there with extreme fitment. I guess those kind of people just don't buy S2000s?
So I'm not demanding, just requesting that people with unfunctionally slammed S2000s put aggressive wheels on it....otherwise it's like eating a jelly sandwich and saying you have a PBJ, lol.

+1. I'm not the biggest fan of hardtops, but I'd rock that over a convertible any day.
ITT: extreme fitment
edit: great S2000 post btw

There is nothing wrong with any of the fitment of any of the S2000's posted in this thread other than the one with stock wheels. Just because they're not sticking half an inch outside of the fender with the tire being stretched so the tread is inside of the fender doesnt mean they dont fit properly, and doesnt mean that it doesnt look good.
Well it will be no surprise for you to hear me say that I don't like jelly sandwiches, haha
.
That S2000 you posted is pretty freaking awesome looking though, we can happily agree on that

Infact if he had stretched tires it would be more functional.
Yeah I know, no room for suspension travel....too bad pulling the fenders on a S2000 wouldn't do anything because they stupidly put the rear bumper IN the rear quarter panel. Since doing that would allow the car some more travel with those sized tires at that ride height.
