i have been riding for 4 months 
on a side note i cant clutch up first no problem but finding balance point is crazy! i think the new r6's balance point is like straight up 12 o clock or something ( i havent tried standing up yet)

2.5 years here. Good god your old shawn. lol
People clutch it up in first to get a feel of getting it up. It's a lot easier to clutch it up than power it up on newer bikes. Especially stock, I've tried to power up newer bikes but i couldn't because of restrictions or what not.
