Devan I have a set of stock 6 bolt pistons and rods if you just blew a ring land or something like that you are welcome to one.

i had a burnt valve on #3. i have a brand new head that is going on tomorrow. this adventure has costed me only 40 some dollars and thats 2 headgaskets (i messed the first one up because i was trying to put the head on by myself and the corner of the head tore up the gasket.) what would cause a valve to burn? the only thing i could figure is that the 550s are to much without a controller. ignition and fuel mods are: my ignition timing is set to 8ish and timing is 10ish. stock fuel pump is rewired. 9.5mm plug wires. do i need to advance or retard my timing or just take the 550s out until i get the GM translator or an s-AFC?
