Local S2000/Ferrari F40 owners dicsussion thread
I paid a decent amount for my car ($14k), but when I bought it it was 100% stock, in mint shape, and had 42k miles on it. And it was black on black. And when I bought it, the only S2k's that were for sale within 100 mi of here were beat to shit, had a billion miles, or were modded to fuck, and STILL nearly as much as I paid.
I'm completely happy with my purchase, especially considering I'll never sell this car. Its exactly what I've wanted for years, and even still stock its still fun every time I drive it.

In 06, I paid 22k for mine. 1 owner, certified preowned, 7 year/100k warranty, all stock. 30k miles.
I looked for a while, wanted Sebring silver, and it seemed like every one for sale was Silverstone. Finally found this one, and I still haven't had any problems. Just minor maintenance stuff.
I have worked on some haggard S2000's, and just shake my head. Rattles every where, ripped tops, seats all mangled, carpet all sorts of fucked. I'm not sure how people let it get to that point. Drives me a little crazy.

All you guys are talking crazy talk with these prices. Here is how my last 4 s2000's were bought for:
1. 2002 red/black with 150k for $7800 Good paint, no rips in the top and it ran perfect.
2. 2003 blue/blue with 110k for $6,800 Hard top, super clean interior, ran perfect
3. 2002 blue/blue with 178k for $3,800 Was wrecked in the front, spent $3k in repairs/paint, and when I was done it looked/ran perfect with brand new interior
4. 2000 gpw/red with 148k for $6,000 Mugen front lip, GC coilovers, super clean interior and it also ran perfect
Now I am on #5. It is a 2002 with 56k original miles.
You guys just need to look around, have the cash to throw down in the sellers face; and make sure you buy a solid running one.
edit:
I'm not going to lie tho, I've good money on all of those cars. The market has shot up after all the idiots bought them at the low point and a lot were wrecked, salvaged, exported.

Guys, I was youtube surfing and I came across this plastic oxidation removal. I tried it on my AP1 plastic rear glass and voila, let there be light. This would make parallel parking much more easier again.

I wanted either black or white, and I wanted an 03, and I wanted low low miles, and I wanted stock. And I wasnt going to travel or look forever, and it had to be at a dealership since I was trading my truck in.
I got a good deal based on what was out when I got mine in the middle of summer.

I was more so posting for Jarrod, saying that if you hold out long enough; there are some deals to be had out there. I never said they were low mileage or anything.
Beauty of the s2000 is that even with 178k and a bad front wreck, the car drove perfect with no vibrations or weird hiccups.

I have done both; and besides being cleaner with less rock chips, the higher mile cars drove/pulled just like lower mileage ones, and I own a ap1 with super low miles; that also drives/feels like the others.
