3,000 miles here. With as much as your oil lubricates in a bike; not sure I'd want to risk anything. 3,000 may be over(under)kill, but I'd rather be save than sorry.
I rolled over 3k, from when I bought the bike. So I was going to do it then but decided to check with the Pro's

Nope, I normally don't go over 12k RPMs. Riding in VA Beach, there is no need for more. By then I'm probably already speeding.

I got a quick question. My service book tells me to change oil every 8,000 miles.
Are you looking at miles or kilometers? I made that mistake by looking at kilometers in my user manual, but realized the (miles) was below it in parentheses. Damn Japs.
