Re: Bad experience with A+ wheel repair and detailing
This place goes by A+ detailing and A+ wheel repair and detailing, they are located across the street from fairfax hooters.
http://www.aplusdetailing.com/
10407 Fairfax Blvd. (Lee Highway)
Fairfax, VA 22030
703-273-7370
Monday-Friday 9:00AM - 7:00PM
Saturday 9:00AM - 6:00PM
Short version: They did about 10% of the work i paid them to do and gave me 101 excuses on why they didnt do what i asked them to do. aka i got pwned
long version:
I stopped by and asked him if they can re-clear my wheels, they said no can do since they cant clear over machined/polished surfaces.
Then I asked them to take my 3 piece wheels apart and polish the centers, they said they can do that and sure thing, and quoted me $500 for 4 wheels, reason being that its going to take them all day to take my wheels apart. I said fine, because i couldnt take the wheels apart myself.
I leave and come back on thursday to drop off the tires and check on the progress, I see 1 wheel that they were working on and has bare aluminum spots on clear coat and i asked them that when its done is it going to be even, they said yes, so i left.
friday afternoon they call me and tell me my wheels are ready for pickup, I come.
heres is what they did:
- sanded down my oxidized parts of the wheel clearcoat and applied compound on it.
- rubbed compound on my outer lip (I never told them to touch the lip)
heres what they didnt do, that i asked them to do: they did NOT
- take my wheels apart
- repaint the centers
- buff the surface evenly
basically they did not do anything i asked them to do.
the owner told me that the torque bolts are on there too tight, he told me that they are 3 piece wheels therefore impossible to take apart, he told me the bare aluminum spots will blend in with the clearcoated spots.
after asking him a bunch of times and telling him what i want, he kept telling me thats not what i want and what he did is the best job anyone can do.
clearcoat still on there (and still oxidized)

I know this might be a long shot. But if you still have the wheels I want to make this right for you.
We now have a CNC machine and we can machine and Clear the wheels for you back to factory.
If not, I would like to make it up to you some other way if you have any other damaged wheels.
We have relocated to
9711 Fairfax Blvd.
Fairfax VA 22031.
Thanks and I hope that we can earn your trust for future business.
Thanks
Ali
