I'm guessing next time you'll pay your family mechanic a few dollars to check out a car before you buy or trade it.
I've been there many times.
Most recent bought a VR6 Jetta from another military and had it shipped from Fl to Az. Started it up and there was no coolant- Since the heater core was bad. He swore to me that he never had any coolant disappear or flow through the vents. Battled with that, blown struts, blown engine mounts, rear 2 windows didn't work, paint had horrible oxidation, ac didn't work, and stereo was stolen but not his fault since it got stolen on the shipment over. Talk about money spent-

the car i traded him was no prize, but was mechanically perfect, and i explained every problem accordingly. the tire being pushed back is after i spent all this money already just so i can drive it! It's definetly my fault, but glock2myhead shouldn't sit there and say it was fine when he traded it, because that's a load of bs. Not to mention i asked the old, "is it reliable" speech, and without hesitation, he said get an alignment, and new wheel bearings, and i should be good to go, but whatever, water under the bridge now,lol
