Being an "05'er" I prolly dont have much to say, but i hope this all works out for the best in everyones eyes. And thanks for the scammer warning. Wasnt about to buy anything, but good to know for the future...

And by the way, why are "05'ers" so bad? I just moved here recently, and who knows, could be around for quite a while.....haha

Much to my surprise, he has paid what he owes to me.

I would suggest using the legal system first. "Pressure" helps, but this is a dumb way of going about it.

I don’t think there is anything immature about this post. And if it was anyone of you who’d gotten scammed you’d be just as pissed. Also it’s good he posted the scammers personal info on a thread, now it’s out there for everyone to see. Maybe he saved someone else from having a hard time. And I definitely don’t think he should be banned for this.

Okay.. so what happens when someone goes a little too far, goes to the kids house with a gun.. shoots and kills him.. and his parents want to sue the people who are responsible for providing DragVA to the public? It's very possible, and quite frankly, they would probably have a strong case being that someone was allowed to post personal information in a public place and beyond that, encouraged "punishment."

Believe me.. I've been ripped off before. Twice, actually; Now I'm very careful about who I deal with and how I deal with people.. I'd go the legal route, personally. It's not worth getting in trouble over it. Are we talking a few hundred dollars at the most or are we talking tens of thousands of dollars?

considering im not in the country right now that would be impossible. unless you'd like to come to uruguay. but what did i think was funny? WHAT BLAXICAN SAID. about getting a mob and strapping you to a bed and setting fire to it. why did i think it was funny? because it was completely random and irrelevant to this thread. random things make me laugh. hardee har har.

I can't tell anyone how to get their money back, but I know that most of the time when people try to take things into their own hands, the scammer wins. He's probably already printed this thread out just for documentation so that when you guys "get back what's rightfully yours" or do whatever it is that you intend to do to give yourselves closure from the loss of the money, he'll have proof for his attorney.. then you guys lose--again! But hey.. whatever makes you feel like more of a man, right?

All I'm saying is be careful about how you approach things. That goes for when you decide to stop by his house, when you post up personal information and advertise taking a "mob" to his house or beating him up.. whatever the case is.. it's a public forum! Public for attorneys, for police, for the court system, for the kids parents, etc. I'm sure you won't get your money back by beating the kid up or by posting his personal information on a forum encouraging others to pay him a visit.

Regardless, good luck getting your money back.. All of you. I wish you the best with that, but that's definitely not something I would want to be caught up in.

You do have a point. And I don’t approve of someone going to his house and shooting him, but if he is a thief and has ripped people off on this site, I believe he does have an ass whopping coming to him. Although personally I wouldn’t post about it on a internet forum.
And as far as dragva being liable if anything happens to this kid; im not a lawyer, but im sure the dragva admin would have a better handle on what can and cannot be posted. But finding personal info such as an address, isn’t really that hard, this is the internets gawd

Not hard to find out information about people at all. I used to track people down for a living and collect on various debts, and I got paid quite well to do that.. information can be easily obtained, but I believe liability comes into play when the kid gets what's coming to him, he takes everyone to court, brings a print out of this exact thread with his address, phone number, etc... It's a catch 22 because we have the freedom of speech, and information like that is considered public information, but DragVA can still be liable for something that might happen to this kid.. All it takes is a good attorney. I feel that the legal system is made up of a good portion of politics, more than anything else in some situations.

I believe the whole liability issue is probably why the rules in SPO clearly state that posting up personal information and/or threats is grounds for immediate banning. I can't speak on Sung's behalf, or any of the admins/mods, but I know that I wouldn't want to be liable for someone elses actions just because I was providing a cool place to spend time and converse with friends on the internet.. and with that said, I don't want anyone to flush this forum down the toilet because other people took it upon themselves to hurt someone who ripped them off, causing the forum to directly or indirectly vanish. I don't know if that even made sense the way I said it, but I'm assuming you get where I'm coming from with that.

I'll stay out of it.. Carry on, fellas. Just encouraging you to make wise decisions that you won't regret later.

well there you go then if those are the rules of spo i guess he should be banned. i haven’t read all the rules on spo due to i've never started a thread in that section. guess i should have read them before spouting off.

and with the free speech and public forums on the internet argument, that’s a whole other field in the legal system, one in which is lacking in knowledgeable attorneys. if someone wanted to take admin to court with a print out of this thread it would prob come down to who has the best lawyer. either way, guess it’s of no concern to me, ill step away from the keyboard now.
