Well....
It was a joke.
I thought he would know that it was a joke. I feel bad that he got hurt and I wish it hadn't happened... I'm SURE he wishes it hadn't happened. We were fighting over the same bike just a few months ago and neither of us even ended up buying it.

So lets get this straight... Everyone who rides without a jacket and gloves and full boots and blah blah blah is a squid? I find these implications that are made on this site so often to be funny, I was riding motorcycles WITHOUT A HELMET before 90% of the people on this website were even in middle school and here I am, still alive!
Do you street racer types wear a helmet, firesuit and have a full cage in your cars every single time you line up? Fuck no you don't.
Do you people who actually get laid from time to time, wear a condom every single time, never fail? Possible, but I doubt it.
Gear or lack thereof does not make you a "squid", riding a motorcycle because its the cool thing to do, makes you a squid, lying to people about the 120 mph wheelie you did on your 00 R6 last week, makes you a squid.
:end rant:

Funny thing is that I've actually had people make ignorant comments after I leave about how I'm all geared up with a jacket, gloves, and a helmet.. like "wtf is he wearing all that for? he doesn't need that. what a dumbass" kind of thing, and you just have to shrug it off because I sure as hell would rather be wearing full gear if I go down than a t-shirt and shorts. It's a personal choice, just like you can make the choice on your own to not wear gear if you want, and it's you that has to suffer the consequences if you wreck.. not me. You know that. You might even think about that every time you get on the bike. I do!
I've rode a few times with just a shirt and shorts, gloves, and a helmet.. and it felt great, but it's not worth the risk to me. There are a few exceptions, but I know that if I take that risk, I have to be ready to suffer the consequences of my decision.. and I can't bitch about it later if I wreck because it was my own damn fault that I wasn't wearing gear.
As for the squid comment, it was a joke, as I said before.

Hey, no hard feelings...I don't blame people for saying I'm stupid for not wearing gear because it was and I suffered the consequences(sp?) for it....just hopefully everyone learns from me and wears their shit no matter what the reason.....
And that was funny that neither one of us got that bike and that your bike is for sale and I sold mine...lol

I don't think you were stupid, I think you just made a mistake and unfortunately that mistake was with bad timing when you weren't wearing your gear. I'm just glad you made it out alive!

I really wish I would have bought it looking back.. but I was concerned that there was more wrong with it than what met the eye. Hell of a deal, and a sharp looking bike.
