PS2- was the early bird and got the worm but shot themselves when GT4 was not online.
Xbox- even though it was way more powerful. it was a day late and a dollar short. But now has picked up momentum thanks to a constantly growing online community. ( Halo2, Battlefront)
Nintendo has admitted that they will not be keeping up with Micro$oft and Sony in the spec wars.
They also have admitted they will not be offering gaming for the "HD-era"
They have also admitted that this console will range between $149-$299.
Looks like the Revolution will follow the same footsteps as the Gamecube. I feel that Micro$oft and Sony have nothing to worry about.
They better know when to fold'em. End up like Sega......RIP.

Sony definetely has something to worry about, because they rely on third party support, and most games will be available for all three systems. If Microsoft continues to excel in online gaming with LIVE, and Nintendo cleans up with people interested in a new way of gaming, Sony will be left ass out with a high priced system that no one sees a need for.
The simple point is that the market is wide open right now. For the most part, no one is loyal to ONE system anymore. Hell I have all three right now. Hardcore gamers (a minority mind you) are willing to buy a console for exclusive games.
XBOX-Halo
PS2- Gran Turismo
GC-Metroid, Mario, Zelda, etc.
For people who don't care about those particular games, it's anyone's market. The company who can deliver fun, popular games for the most reasonable price will stand out.
The 360 is just an Xbox with better graphics, the PS3 is just a Playstation with better graphics.
The Revolution will offer a new way to play games for a reasonable price, and if that gamble pays off, Sony and Microsoft will definetly have a problem.
Remember what the analog stick did for the N64?

Too bad Rare is now owned by Micro$oft. All of the GoldenEye fanatics are patiently waiting for Perfect Dark on Xbox 360. 54 Player Deathmatches at one time!
Who else will be camping?

The only bad thing about Rare being owned by Microsoft now is that we'll never see another Killer Instinct.
Perfect Dark is the best (and only) thing Rare has going for them, hopefully they don't screw it up.I'm pissed there haven't been any playable demos of it. I'll probably pick it up at launch anyway.

Dude, I would be right there with you. I truly feel that this was PS2’s downfall. For month’s Rumors of Online GT4 gameplay and then……………..nothing. Halo2 now continues to grow to the monster it is today.

just need a house big enough.
As for 54 player deathmatch = one sick server needed. thats a lot of data to send to and fro on broadband.
and here I thought hardcore gamers used PC's which consitently kick consoles asses.
The 360 double as a media center pc? I haven't looked into it.

looks like 2k6-2k7 will be an exciting couple of months. between ultra-gaming platforms, the internet making the world that much smaller by the faster and faster connections, and the automobile manufacturers in japan deciding to duke it out with such cars as the Mustang, and soon to be re-released camaro/firebird, via the GTR concept and the new supra laying in wait, sheeiiiit its all about the dollar ppl. get a good job.
