darren i have had a few keys cut myself with nothing more than a vin # the only cars so far that wont do it with out proof of ownership was a range rover, a jaguar and a mercedes. makes me feel a little better since i own 2 of the three my denali has on-star so if its stolen they can tell me eactly where it is

 

The previous driver of my company car lost a key to the car I drive so I couldn't open the trunk. I went to the Toyota dealership with registration in hand. They cut me a key in a matter of 2 minutes.

That's one thing I love about my car. Toyota has to have you in their registry before they will cut you a key. In order to do so, you have to supply them with a certain code printed on the outside of the lock cylinder of the passenger door.

Being that my car is not even in the registry, I know it can't happen to me.
